Woman fell in love with teacher 25 years older – now the couple wants to show that age is just a number

It is often said that love knows no age. It’s something that resonates with Michelle and Monica, who chose to get married – despite an age difference of 25 years.

The story of how they met has now become known all over the world.

When it comes to love, most people will agree that it is often difficult to understand. Sometimes it happens completely without warning and it is only fate that determines who you fall in love with.

A couple that made headlines after they got together are Michelle and Monica. They have truly proved that love has no limits.

It is above all how they met that many consider to be a bit odd.

Met at school
Monica, 32, met Michelle, 57, back in 2004. At the time, Monica was 13 years old and Michelle was her teacher at school, then 38 years old.

”Another question I often get is if I loved her when I was 13 – of course not. At that time, we had no relationship except that she was a good teacher,” Monica said to Metro.

In April 2020, Monica decided to look up her favorite teacher on Facebook. Sixteen years had then passed since we last saw each other.

On Facebook, Monica found out that Michelle was married to a woman. Monica, who at the time had recently come out as a lesbian, decided to contact her old teacher.

The following year, 2021, Monica and Michelle decided to meet. They quickly developed a close friendship, which later developed into a romantic relationship.

“When we got close, I was worried about the age difference and I was worried about how we first met, but I had to let it all go,” Michelle shared.

People think they are mother and daughter
Monica wasn’t as worried about the age difference. They found love in each other and now they live happily together, despite the fact that they are often met with a lot of online hate from internet trolls.

Not infrequently, they are also asked if they are mother and daughter, or even grandmother and granddaughter.

“We learned to laugh it off and brush it off,” Monica said, “but if you see me kiss her, why would you ask if she’s my mother?”

Finally got married
In the fall of 2022, the couple got engaged and on June 17, 2023, the wedding took place. It was a small romantic wedding for the closest ones on the shore next to Lake Michigan, USA.

Despite the age difference, the couple says they have a lot in common. For example, taste of music, camping and locally brewed beer.

How nice that you found love in each other!
