Renowned actress Shelley Long, famous for her role as Diane Chambers on the beloved series “Cheers,” recently made a public appearance after a prolonged absence from Hollywood’s spotlight.
Long was spotted taking her dog for a walk in her neighborhood of Pacific Palisades, dressed casually in gray sweatpants, a blue turtleneck, a black coat, sneakers, and glasses.
Photos captured the silver-maned star wearing a serious expression as she walked with her hands in her pockets.
This outing comes shortly after Long chose not to attend the highly anticipated “Cheers” reunion at this year’s Emmy Awards. Despite the show’s successful 11-season run, Long departed after the fifth season in 1986.
In a 2012 interview, she explained her decision, citing a desire to avoid repetitive roles and pursue opportunities in film. Long also emphasized her wish to prioritize time with her family, particularly her young child at the time.
Long’s departure from “Cheers” came amidst personal challenges, including reported struggles with depression following the dissolution of her marriage to Bruce Tyson, her husband of 22 years.
