‘Pawn Stars’ Rick Harrison grieving sudden death of son Adam, 39

Pawn Stars creator Rick Harrison is grieving the sudden death of his son Adam Harrison, who tragically passed away on Friday (January 19).

Adam, 39, tragically passed away due to an overdose, as confirmed by his representative, Laura Herlovich to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The news of Adam’s death was first reported by TMZ, and details surrounding the circumstances, including when and where the overdose occurred, remain unknown. The Las Vegas Metro Police Department has initiated an investigation into his untimely death.

The Harrison family is grieving the loss of Adam, and Herlovich shared a brief statement on their behalf, saying: “Our family is extremely saddened by the death of Adam. We ask for privacy as we grieve his loss.”

Adam was Rick Harrison’s second child from his first marriage to Kim, making him the younger brother of Corey Harrison. Rick later remarried Tracy, with whom he shares a son named Jake.

While Adam did not appear on the popular unscripted series Pawn Stars, which features both Rick and Corey, he reportedly worked at the family’s business, Gold & Silver Pawn, before the show premiered in 2009. However, he had not been actively involved in the pawn shop in recent times.

After the news of Adam’s overdose broke, Rick took to Instagram to share a heartfelt tribute to his son. Alongside a photo of himself smiling with Adam at a bar, Rick wrote: “You will always be in my heart! I love you Adam. 💔”

Adam had a close bond with his older brother Corey, who also expressed his grief on Instagram. Corey’s post featured a heartbreaking image of him holding a photograph of the two brothers playing together in a bathtub as children. His caption read: “Wax wtf I will always love you bubba.”

Adam’s sudden passing has left the Pawn Stars family and fans in shock, and further highlights the devastating impact of substance abuse and the effects it can have not only on the sufferer but their family.

We are sending our thoughts and prayers to the Harrison family at this tragic time.

I SLEPT UNDER A BRIDGE — BUT MY DOG KEPT ME WARM, ALIVE, AND HUMAN People think rock bottom is when you lose your home, your job, or your family. They’re wrong. For me, it was the day I realized no one had said my name in two weeks. Not once. Except for him—Bixby. My dog. He didn’t speak it, of course, but every morning he’d look at me with those big, patient eyes, tail wagging slow and steady, like I was still worth something. Like I was still his person. We’d already been through hell together—eviction, shelters turning us away because of “no pets,” nights curled up under an old tarp while the wind cut through us. And still, he never strayed. Never stopped pressing himself against me in the cold like he could keep the world away just by staying close. Once, after two days without food, someone tossed a sausage biscuit from a car window. I split it right down the middle, but Bixby just nudged his half toward me with his nose. His eyes said, You first. I can wait. That moment cracked something in me. I started carrying a cardboard sign—not to beg, but to tell people who we were. Because strangers saw the dirt, the frayed hoodie, the unshaven face. They didn’t see him. They didn’t see how he kept me alive in more ways than one. And then last week—just as I was packing up to move spots—a woman in scrubs stopped in front of us. She looked right at me, right at Bixby… and said five words that changed everything. (continue reading in the 1st comment)
