The well-known political analyst Lou Dobbs passed away at the age of 78. Known for his tenure at CNN and Fox News, Dobbs was a divisive figure, particularly because of his remarks regarding Barack Obama.

In his condolence message on Truth Social, former President Donald Trump described Dobbs as “an incredible talent” and a “friend and truly amazing reporter, journalist, and artist.”

Lou was unique, and he loved our nation,” Trump continued,

Before switching to television in the middle of the 1970s and joining NBC’s King-TV in Seattle, Dobbs began his career at KBLU radio in Arizona. He was one of CNN’s first reporters, hosting the business news program Moneyline in 1980.

Due to controversy surrounding his coverage of illegal immigration, Dobbs departed CNN in 2009. He began hosting “Lou Dobbs Tonight” on Fox Business in 2010 and continued until its cancellation in 2021
