Keith Urban Promised to Sing for 27 Lost Girls But What Nicole Kidman Did Left Families Speechless

Keith Urban & Nicole Kidman Respond as Parents, Not Celebrities, After Texas Flood Tragedy After a deadly flash flood in Texas claimed 104 lives—including 27 young girls at a summer camp—Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman expressed deep sorrow.

“They were just little girls. Somebody’s daughters. Just like ours,” Keith said. The couple donated $250,000 to the Texas Disaster Relief Fund to support grieving families, displaced children, and rebuilding efforts.

Keith also announced a benefit concert, “Rise for Texas,” featuring stars like Blake Shelton and Alan Jackson, with all proceeds aiding the devastated communities.

In a deeply personal gesture, each family who lost a daughter received a silver locket engraved with “She was here. She mattered. She is forever,” along with a handwritten letter from Keith and Nicole promising to remember and sing for each girl.

Known for their quiet generosity, Keith and Nicole’s heartfelt actions moved many grieving families, showing true empathy as parents reaching out to other parents.

Keith will also debut a new song, “Hold On to Heaven,” inspired by the tragedy.

Through their giving and remembrance, Keith and Nicole vow that Texas will heal—and that the daughters lost will never be forgotten.
