Karoline Leavitt, 28, has been a breath of fresh air in the White House \u2014 if you want to see it that way.<\/p>\n

Now, the press secretary is back in the spotlight, this time following a \u2018disgusting\u2019 remark from her 79-year-old boss, President Trump.<\/p>\n

Remarks about her looks
\nIn recent weeks, President Donald Trump has come under renewed scrutiny for a series of attacks aimed at female reporters.<\/p>\n

In November, Trump sparked widespread outrage when he told a Bloomberg White House correspondent, \u201cQuiet, piggy,\u201d after she asked him about the Epstein files, a topic he clearly didn\u2019t want to address.<\/p>\n

It didn\u2019t stop there. Days later, he aimed fresh insults at a female CNN reporter, calling her \u201cnasty\u201d and \u201cstupid.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now, the White House press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, has found herself the target of remarks about her looks. While somewhat flattering, critics say they were entirely inappropriate.

\nSpeaking to supporters in Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday, December 9, Trump mentioned that his 28-year-old press secretary was present.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe even brought our superstar today, Karoline,\u201d he told the crowd, adding, \u201cIsn\u2019t Karoline great?\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump went on, according to several newspapers: \u201cYou know, when she goes on television, Fox, like I mean, they dominate, they dominate when she gets up there with that beautiful face and those lips that don\u2019t stop-op-op-op, like a little machine gun.\u201d<\/p>\n

Strong reactions
\nHe went on to link her confidence on television to the administration\u2019s policies.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s got no fear\u2026 because we have the right policy,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n

Trump continued: \u201cWe don\u2019t have men in women\u2019s sports\u2026 we don\u2019t have to sell transgender to everybody, we don\u2019t have to sell open borders where the world is allowed to come into our country from prisons and everywhere else \u2013 so she\u2019s got a little bit [of an] easier job.\u201d<\/p>\n

A lot of people reacted strongly to Trump\u2019s comments about Leavitt, and many were far from pleased.<\/p>\n

@CalltoActivism tweeted: \u201c\ud83d\udea8BREAKING: Trump points out Karoline Leavitt\u2019s beautiful face and her lips \u2018that don\u2019t stop pappaap paapaaap paaap like a machine gun.\u2019 Trump is a disgusting fool.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nOthers shared similar outrage.<\/p>\n

\u201dDisgusting. Who talks like that? She should feel cheap and disrespected. Gross,\u201d another person wrote.<\/p>\n

One person added: \u201cTrump reducing a woman to her looks and the sound of her lips is grotesque, juvenile, and horrifyingly predictable.\u201d Another added, \u201cGross. I\u2019d be mortified if my boss spoke about me like that.\u201d A further comment noted, \u201cHe certainly doesn\u2019t hide what he thinks of females. Any age.\u201d<\/p>\n

Not the first time
\nIt\u2019s not the first time Trump, 79, has commented on his 28-year-old press secretary\u2019s appearance\u2014or faced backlash on social media for doing so.<\/p>\n

Back in October, the president similarly gushed about Leavitt\u2019s lips during a press gaggle aboard Air Force One. He was speaking with reporters following his victory lap trip to Israel and Egypt, after signing his peace deal alongside Western and Arab leaders.<\/p>\n

Despite discussing Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Trump abruptly shifted the conversation to his press secretary\u2019s looks.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow\u2019s Karoline doing? Is she doing good?\u201d Trump asked reporters, seemingly unprompted. \u201cShould Karoline be replaced?\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

When a reporter responded, \u201cThat\u2019s up to you, sir,\u201d Trump remarked, \u201cIt\u2019ll never happen. That face\u2026and those lips. They move like a machine gun, right?\u201d<\/p>\n

In August, Trump had made a similar comment about Leavitt\u2019s facial features during an interview with Newsmax: \u201cShe\u2019s become a star. It\u2019s that face. It\u2019s that brain. It\u2019s those lips, the way they move. They move like she\u2019s a machine gun.\u201d<\/p>\n

Leavitt herself has not directly responded to Trump\u2019s remarks but appears unfazed, sharing multiple posts about Tuesday\u2019s event on Twitter. Recently, she has spoken about her age-gap relationship and the difficulty of finding a man \u201cher own age.\u201d Her husband is 32 years older than she is.<\/p>\n

On Pod Force One with Miranda Devine, she was asked, \u201cCould you not find boys your own age who were as mature?\u201d<\/p>\n
