Charlie Kirk\u2019s death sent shockwaves worldwide. Many praised the political activist for his bravery and for speaking his mind, while others criticized him for dividing rather than including. Several celebrities spoke out, including Jamie Lee Curtis, who later had to clarify her remarks.<\/p>\n
Another person was Amanda Seyfried. The actress called Kikr \u201chateful\u201d on Instagram following the tragic assassination on September 10. Seyfried received significant criticism for her choice of words.<\/p>\n
A week after Kirk\u2019s death, she condemned the killing, although she denounced Charlie Kirk\u2019s opinions.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re forgetting the nuance of humanity,\u201d Seyfried wrote. \u201cI can get angry about misogyny and racist rhetoric and ALSO very much agree that Charlie Kirk\u2019s murder was absolutely disturbing and deplorable in every way imaginable.\u201d<\/p>\n
She added, \u201cNo one should have to experience this level of violence. This country is grieving too many senseless and violent deaths and shootings. Can we agree on that at least?\u201d<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, Who What Wear released an interview with Amanda Seyfried, where the subject came up. Now, two months later, she still says she refuses to apologize for calling Charlie Kirk \u201chateful.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m not f***ing apologizing for that. I mean, for f*** sake, I commented on one thing. I said something that was based on actual reality and actual footage and actual quotes. What I said was pretty damn factual, and I\u2019m free to have an opinion, of course,\u201d she told the outlet.<\/p>\n
The Mamma Mia star admitted she considered deleting her comment, but ultimately decided to leave it for everyone to see. As she recevied a lot of hateful messages herself, her family and friends were concerned for her safety.<\/p>\n
\u201cThank God for Instagram. I was able to give some clarity, and it was about getting my voice back because I felt like it had been stolen and recontextualized \u2014 which is what people do, of course,\u201d the actress added.<\/p>\n
