Once facing financial struggles, the renowned Hollywood actor, author, and activist showcased incredible resilience on his journey to fame. Born in 1961 in Alberta, Canada, he discovered his passion for acting in school, eventually landing roles in Canadian series like “Leo & Me.”

Moving to Los Angeles at 17 to pursue acting, he faced initial challenges, struggling to secure roles. Undeterred, he held onto his belief in success, even dumpster diving for food at 18.

His breakthrough came with the role of Alex P. Keaton in “Family Ties,” propelling him from hardship to stardom.

Despite his success, life took a turn when he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s at 29. Undaunted, he kept his diagnosis private, continuing to work, expand his family, and contribute to Parkinson’s research.

His foundation, The Michael J. Fox Foundation, has raised over $1.75 billion.

Despite the ongoing challenges, he remains optimistic, grateful, and committed to finding a cure for the disease.
