I asked my sister to take my daughter with her to the seaside, but she refused. However, her warning shook me the most, and I will never forgive her for it.

I divorced four years ago when my daughter was just born. My husband had always wanted a son, and after the birth of our daughter, he immediately declared his love for another woman, claiming she was expecting a boy. We separated, and now I work as a freelancer. Despite earning well, I have very little time for relaxation. Thankfully, my mother and friends can help take care of my daughter, bring her to places, as I’m often too busy.

A few months ago, my sister told me they were planning a summer vacation by the sea. I was thrilled to hear about it and asked her to take my daughter along. Of course, I was willing to cover all expenses for my daughter. My sister’s mother-in-law was with them, so I thought it wouldn’t be too difficult for them to handle my daughter. My sister has a two-year-old son, while my daughter is four. If she were going on vacation alone with her son, I wouldn’t even consider suggesting she take my daughter.

But since her husband and mother-in-law would be there, I thought it wouldn’t be a big deal. My sister declined my request, and I was disappointed because whenever she needed help from me, I was always there to assist. She often leaves her child with me.

Although it’s challenging for me to manage two kids and work, I always try to help her. She says her husband doesn’t want to take someone else’s child on vacation, but when they leave their son with me, he somehow doesn’t feel like a stranger. They returned from their vacation two weeks ago, and my sister asked me to look after her child.

You see, their friends invited them to the countryside for a two-day trip. I declined this time. In the past, I always agreed, but now I don’t see the point. If she can do it to me, why can’t I do the same?

She’s upset with me and says I’m in the wrong. When I bring up the situation about the seaside vacation, she claims it’s different. However, I don’t see the difference and believe I’m doing the right thing.
